Why can't you behave?

(the song from my favorite Inspector Morse episode, which is on tv tonight.) Tim called at 8 tonight when I was, guess where, working at Greece Library. He is counting the days till he can see me at his graduation. Sis Van and her hubby Dick are driving down with me. Yay! Even if they can't attend the ceremony! I am awaiting the information package to tell me how many people CAN come.
Tim's groomsman Jeff Kingsbury got married Friday. I couldn't go to the wedding because of work. Van was my date for the dinner since I didn't want to have to sit with Tim's parents by myself. Van is good at bs'ing, she admits it herself, so she was a boon to me. They were getting me very upset and I don't do well with getting upset. No, I didn't tell them off. We looked hot! Cash bar. Food was good. DJ was fair to horrible, but no one likes what I like LOL. Meanwhile, somewhere in the city a group of black people (and 2 non-blacks)were listening to George Jones.....
I'm sayin'. So Tim's dad invited himself to ride with us to South Carolina. I did not answer yet either way. Jeez. And, hehe, when they got up to 'boogie' Tim's mom left her ginormous handbag on the chair; I didn't wait a second, I immediately said to Van, "I'll grab her credit card and we'll hit JoAnn's on the way home." Have to laugh. Makes me sick. I love Tim, but hate what he did. What he'd do in that same second to me and my family if he had the chance. So Van said, "It's after 9, we'll have to hit WalMart!" And people say Van has no sense of humor.
The bride's sister asked us if we're twins! I thanked her. :)
I am mailing a beautiful porcelain wedding keepsake box from Princess House to the happy couple.

Been sick

Summer cold. Ucky. Chan the pug has taken the opportunity to start his own blog. He steals my (lack of) writing style, though, the cute little sneak. www.chanthepug.blogspot.com The 2 dogs and I watched a couple film noir videos. Oh, and I've been reading that book everyone is excited about. You know the one. Fade Out by Douglas Woolf. Oh, that's not the one you thought I meant? Well, you should know I live in a different time, a gentler, simpler time . (In my mind!!!!) Yes, I am feeling feverish now that you mention it....

In the subway tunnel from Astoria to Manhattan one night with Josh Chu, the car stopped and the emergency lights came on. Just when some people were beginning to get antsy, the token weird dude on the train said, "Beam me up, Scotty." Everyone let out relieved laughter, and the train started up again.

Tim called today. The Woggles were great last night.

Tim got a medal for target shooting. He's never shot before! He was allowed to call me after running for 2 miles. Whew. As hot in South Carolina as it is here. :) He likes being in the Army, thank goodness.
Let's see....Friday after work at Greece Library I worked for 3+ hours at the Monroe County Fair. More about that later. I couldn't walk around after my shift was over because I had to meet the gang for 80's night. Rick H., recently back from Baghdad, bought me a drink. Nice of him. His friend, who used to live in Atlanta too, talked to me for a long time. Everyone asks after Tim. Makes sure I am ok. A guy was telling me about his band Silent Auction. I have actually seen them. Fun night.
Friday had a very late dinner at Valicia's. Excellent as always. At the table behind me a threesome were discussing past presidents , Buck Owens (whom they thought was dead), politics and Don Rickles. LOL. Then to Bug Jar where I was 1 of the 3 girls wearing hose. The same dress and shoes as I wore to the Cynics in Buffalo 2 yrs ago this month but a different hairdo. Very cute beehive. Hot in there!! I had forgotten (!) how energetic the singer from Woggles is! Kept jumping off the stage. Fun! A girl named Julie asked me if I was with the band? She thought she knew me but not from here, but from Atlanta!!! Weird. Turns out she only lived in Athens, not Atlanta, for a short while, but still...I met so many people, so many places. We had a nice chat anyhow, whether we'd met before or not. :) Holly Golightly, the headliner, was pretty good. Who knew her fans were so many huge hideous lesbians? I didn't and neither did Holly, who wore a pretty dress from the 70's. I certainly don't want to meet a guy, but let me have something handsome to look at once in a while. hehe.
So back to work at Greece for 5 hours or so during which time my hubby called. Awwww.
OK time to do laundry. Bye for now.

If I hadn't gone to Jim's the gay bar that night in the 80's my purse wouldn't have been stolen & I'd have a passport and I'd be in France now.

I am so glad I went to Jim's.

No such thing as a long note

Basil Kirchin.
Went out last night after work for more fun, dancing and reminiscing. Sometimes people's memories of an event are the same as mine.
Didn't call MIL on Canada Day nor her birthday. I am going straight to heck.
Wasted a lot of time yesterday at Wick's watching Something Weird Videos trailers DVD. He wanted to watch a Herschel Gordon Lewis but I was tired of that and wanted something scary. He had no Karloff or Bela or anything like that on DVD and for some reason we couldn't watch VHS so we settled on the trailers video. Fun.

Young Americans

Luther Vandross.
Charged up a phone card and sent it to Tim yesterday. That should help. Got a letter from him that he wrote on the 23d but mailed on the 28th so that's not so bad. He likes some of the training and exercises and it seems like he likes to show off in front of the young'uns. (He is 27.) He says one drill sarge has it in for him though. Not to worry, Tim probably enjoys goading this guy, too. Tim is tired ("wooped") and had to write by flashlight, poor thing.
Worked at both libraries today. Got to see the lake for a minute.
I got to pet (hug, kiss, tickle, kiss and play-fight) a lil' girl puggy today at Greece Library!!!!! Can you believe some people think pugs are ugly? and their breathing aka snorting is annoying? Well I never. We ran toward each other like long lost friends tho I'd only seen her in a picture. :))))
Chan my pug is right here on the floor on a rug I hooked for him. Shangri-la the shar-pei/pug aka ori-pei is on guard duty in the hall on the rug I hooked for her. Shangri-la doesn't do the pug head-tilt thing though. Awwwwwwwwwwww. I am so lucky we have each other.
