That certainly was a disappointing post.

Sorry. Unprepared as usual.
Stayed up late writing a couple letters to Tim. His handwriting is so bad it was hard to read the address he wrote down. I hope he gets them. Phone message when I got home, from him. He insisted my cell phone was turned off. He must have dialed the wrong number because it was on my lap all during supper out with some of the girls from Greece Library. Well, he did get my birthdate and middle initial wrong on all Army and bank documents that have arrived in the mail. How do you get your wife's name wrong? Worried I won't be able to straighten it out. Gonna lie down..................

Malapropisms I've heard and remember

that guy was trying to edge me on
I faggly remember
tear the coupon on the proliferation
it's a mute point
the top of this bar is sobbing wet
a deep-seeded annoyance
it's a doggy-dog world
and for those of drinking age: saying the word Calvert instead of cavort
would you like another half-craft of wine?
beat all end all
for all intensive purposes
white-eyed instead of wide-eyed
vanilla folder
Here's one I read in a story: they charge such an absorbent price for this medicine.

Thanks for reading, I'll add more as I hear them or recall them.

Even though faggly isn't really a word.....

A possible reason we didn't form a band

We were at the Crown and Sue was telling me about a drumset ad in the paper and I got excited. A PINK DRUMSET!!!! Oh get it get it get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No. What she really said was "A complete drumset."
Oh.
You know the real reason is I hate to rehearse.

WORKED!!!!!

Old Hickory House. Thanks for your help.

When I have time

My next screed will be on why people don't buy the best they can afford.
For now, however, I want to report I have gotten 2 letters from Tim. He says, among other things, he is having fun. Bless his heart.
When I remember the name of the barbecue place my family liked in Atlanta I will write it down HERE so I won't have to fall asleep doing the alphabet trick, which isn't working anyway. Don't make me go through my old bumper stickers! Put some South in ya mouth......Abbie Hoffman for president......

Still the same

As Gentle Giant sang. Got a phone call from Tim (my hubby) this morning. He thought I was peeved he woke me up!! Yeesh!! First, I was awake already but not up yet. I know this because I have to write down when i go to bed and get up, and other things, for the sleep research study I am doing for the University of Rochester. Those 8 minutes of phone time went by very quickly. I miss him. He won't have a return address for me until later this month, but he wrote a letter. I have 2 letters written, waiting to be mailed. Smart me, I will send SASEs. Then the addresses will be legible and he won't have to do more pushups. He had guard duty last night. :(
Did I tell you why I have his Army t-shirt? Wick said, why, was he gonna wear a Kid Rock t-shirt to the swearing in? My jaw dropped. YES HE WAS!!!!!!!!!! The one with the naked lady on it, ya know, the one he wore to his birthday dinner given by his dad last month. So I had on a Daytona Bike Week t-shirt from when Mom and I went this year, and he had on Army t-shirt which I had suggested as appropriate (or Buffalo Bills but he didn't decide on that one) and a military brat said the drill sergeant might give him a very hard time about the Army t-shirt before he's actually in the Army. So we switched in the fitness room of the hotel.
He's sworn in now, though, so it is ok for Army wife to wear it, plus it is so cool.
Finally I can resume using my credit card for my home business, so my area supervisor won't be concerned that I am slacking off, and customers will be happy.
Waited for the bus to Vertex last night, since I am all about conserving our natural resources.
Met Carolee and Gary as planned, but mostly hung by myself. Saw something very disturbing concerning a dork wearing a long junky kimono, and an unfortunate female. Saw Joe O'Neal, Rick H., Jeremy, Sean, Ken, Marcus, Brian O., and a lot of people who obviously didn't see me. 'S okay. Why can't people all be friendly?
Came home and started watching Rear Window, why, I don't know, because I have it memorized. Bye for now.

Busy bee

but not an evil bumblebee. Didn't go to Greek Festival. Dad gave me 20 dollars to take Tim out with. Dad is too nice. Tim wanted to go to Applebee's. No comment. His night, tho, so we went.
Monday Bug Jar for our first 80's night there. Fun. Pizza. 2 dollar drinks, including Guinness. Tim thought he knew the guy he lost to at pool, but dude is an out-of-towner. No name, just Dude. He liked us, among other people, and we put away our wallets. Caught up with Branch (Herman to you). Tim really looks cute with his head shaved. Dancing.
Tuesday Dad took me, Tim, Sis and her hubby to supper at Westgate Family Diner. Too nice. After Tim and I got his kit bag contents from the Dollar Tree across the street.
Wednesday up early for our diner breakfast by his mom: time was changed so we could sleep later but the eejits forgot to tell us. Too stupid. I thought that the K-mart bags were full of stuff for Tim but they were full of crap for the baby. Oh, is the baby going to the Army? I got him a military hairbrush from Sally Beauty Supply next door. And he dropped off his car to the parents. They insisted he fill it with gas first. Guess who lent him the money for that? My Dad. Now they are like: oh we were just joking!! Hogwash. Tim's dad asked if the returnable bottles were still in the trunk or had Tim redeemed them? Jeepers. The diner owner paid for Tim's breakfast. No, Tim's mom didn't give the 10 or so dollars she saved to Tim for walking- around money. More guessing games: where did they go after this early breakfast? To work? No, to Turning Stone Casino. They do not know how much Tim stole from my dad or that he stole my credit card for $1652, among other things.
When we got home, Tim was disgusted that his mom told him there was no way she was going for his graduation from Basic Training in South Carolina in August because she won't fly, F**k no. Not ladylike. And gas is too expensive. Reckon gas is cheaper to go to the casino with, and all over town to eat out and buy crap for the grandchildren with. Oh, that magical gas. I did an alteration and went to deliver it. Didn't get paid yet but I don't like to keep customers waiting too long. Then
to the recruitment office and then to Buffalo, which was very lovely. (I took today off without pay.) Tim and I had a nice time, dining at the Holiday Inn Downtown and walking around the neighborhood, saying goodby. I miss him so much. Coming home, a beautiful sunset and thinnest crescent moon. I showed Dad how to use the cell phone. Dad is sad and depressed about Tim having to go. What a waste, but Army is better than jail. And I don't want a divorce. And we want our money (rueful laugh). Talked to Tim several times before lights out. :( Dad out of town this weekend.
Thursday up very early for someone who works nights to go the the conference in Geneva. Met my friends from Greece for breakfast, took my workshop, then joined them for lunch. Many hugs and commiseration about hubby. They all commented on how tired I was!! I checked into my beautiful lakeside room at the Ramada Inn and took a bath and a nap. Changed into nice duds for cocktails in Chris' room (Arkansas Razorbacks) and then rode to the castle. Very nice. While there Tim called from the South Carolina airport with the calling card I gave him!!!!!!! He couldn't use the pay phone long tho, I understand. Dinner wasn't up to Belhurst Castle standards but we had fun. Also at our table were some girls from Interlibrary Loan department at University of Rochester. Fun. Hugs from friends at Central Library. Went back to Ramada, called Carolee to jap because I was so "tired on my feet" as Chris said, read a few chapters and went to bed at the time I am usually getting home from work!! TV was not turned on during entire trip. Rest of conference good, I love my co-workers at Greece. Even had a serious Union discussion with my co-worker from Winton. Very impressive luncheon.
After goodbyes, I went to the Salvation Army in Geneva and found a dress from 60's with McCurdy's tags still on it, and a Talbots' dress from this year. I bought another jigger-in-a-jiffy because I needed another and it was only 1.99. Saw a cool round house taking a back way thru the city of Geneva.
For Friday night, I watched King of the Hill (lo-flo toilets) and took a nap on the couch before going to Dinosaur to see Hi-Risers. Wick said they would start late: they didn't. Only show here this summer. Guy bought me a Genesee in honor of Tim being in Army. Brian Murray there with his girlfriend (!). Funny story about Lino and Sonny Rollins Jr. Tom Bop Shop Kohn wearing a muumuu, no it was a too-small Hawaiian shirt with guitars. He had to wear it unbuttoned, with a t-shirt. Some very good songs. Battle of New Orleans!!! and some same old good time great time oldies, why Greg and Todd?? Eddie Angel of Los Straitjackets and Neanderthals was guest and did nice work on White Lightnin'.
Cuddled up with Chan in the bed. Shangri-La stayed in the kitchen where it was cooler.
I hope Tim is doing ok. He was quite pleased to learn that once on post, his online college classes will be FREE. and mine too maybe! if they pay for graduate studies for me, that is....
Plus Brother in Tennessee called right before I went out to see how I was holding up. :)

What are you doing for the Queen's birthday?

Going to the Greek Festival, I hope.
The more I think about it (uh-oh) the more I am certain they had sex. Why wouldn't a guy who steals his own wife's credit card cheat on her sexually too? A guy doesn't i m a woman that way unless they have had sex, does he? Maybe I can talk my way out of my thoughts by reminding myself she is a sleaze and this is how guys talk to sleazy broads. I don't like thinking such thoughts. I don't like to be subjected to these people. Icky white trash.
No one at Wegman's is even giving him a going away party, the skunks. It is an outrage.
He is jealous that my 3 or 4 friends who were out last night like me and he spent most of his time keeping me from them. Or them from me haha.
Tim said Logan was afraid to join the conference because he didn't want to be in the middle of Liz and me getting in a fight. Yah. He probably said to Tim: Dude WTF you chatting with another chick while you are married to a hot one now you moron. No wonder your wife is concerned. And some other swear words haha.
I guess she is drunk all the time, so Tim says. How's he know? Gee whiz, I don't get to talk that much to co-worker friends while at work. Hmmmm, must have been some extra-curricular activities. What an ass he is and what a jerk I am for believing him.
I am so angry he is leaving for 4 and a half years because of a few hours of some stupid online gambling. He stole more than I made last year. Lost it of course, duh.
Look on the bright side: I won't have to hear his lying in person anymore.
Oh dear, what if he gets kicked out of the Army?
Logan wouldn't even pay Tim's way into the club last night. Tim must have been to Liz' house (or apartment or trailer) because he said she doesn't drive (verrry interrrresting) and he wasn't going to invite her out with the 3 of us because he would have to drive the hell all the way over there. Then he changed the subject before I thought to ask Over where and how do you know? I don't really know where my friends from work live. Oh that's right I'm not having an affair with any of them, they are all women, except for the gay guy and I know vaguely where he lives because I dropped him off a few times. See?
I don't want Tim to go, I want to work on our marriage. Now we will just have to work on it from afar. It can be done.
It was really nice walking around Midtown yesterday, oops I forget to go to Peeble's and get Dad the socks he likes. Wish I'd had more time but I didn't want Tim to be alone in the house. As it was I got home 10 minutes before he did, whew. I would have looked more in the Hallmark store and in Jeff's Books. The girl at the dollar store was very nice. Why isn't everyone cheerful at their work?
At the doctor's Friday I discovered our bathroom scale is off by 10 pounds. And that I can go ahead and participate in the sleep research study for the University of Rochester. Sad won't go to that doctor anymore when I'm on Army medical insurance. :(
So you see I am accustomed to living in a dream world. I only wish it were not such a nightmare.
Poor Tim, he's so screwed up.

Chili Library

Went downtown to get my haircut. Looks beautiful. Saw Sis at the store, got 3 things at dollar store, looked in the record store. Free parking in that fantastic underground garage. Why don't they take the subway bed and turn it into Underground, like Underground Atlanta? It was so cool down there, that subway bed, last time I ventured down there. Walked from library to Gannett underground. Not today tho...Today I came right back home.
Who will be the new director of Chili Library?
Who got the clerk job at the Appellate Law library? Not I; I decided not to apply. I would have beaten out the 200 tho fa sha.
Tim's friends and fam are jappin on him when it comes to going-away festivities. I'm the one worse than broke and I'm the one taking him out. My Dad takes him out too. Go figure. We are the ones should be snubbing and shunning him if there's to be any snubbing and shunning going on. Bunch of ill-mannered no-necks. Liz woulda fit right in with his family, all lank hair and nasty teeth. Too bad she didn't know him to come on to him before he met me. He'd have been happier?
Come on people, drop what you're doing and take Tim out!! Buy him a little gift bag with goodies he will need at basic training. We all know how you like to spend money. I went to get him a nice toothbrush but all they had were MEDIUM. He needs soft. I made him a cute kit of Head and Shoulders for his scalp, razors, his favorite soap. He won't show me the list of what else he needs. Poor guy is in a bad mood and is leery of me being nice to him, or something.
No he didn't mention my new 'do.
He is upstairs im'ing to perhaps Liz but definitely (this is the correct spelling, y'all) Logan, the friend who snubs. Well, we all waste time on people who are not important and ignore or ill-treat the ones who care. It was sad the other night watching him chase after Logan, leaving me and Rick H. behind.
Will be strange not having hubby. I am upset.

Another sleepy dusty delta day

Took Tim to dinner. His friend at work is a skank with a capital k.
